Can this gestational age be terminated?
Many people who realize they are pregnant and are not ready, the first questions that arise are “How many weeks is the gestational age now?” “Can it still be terminated?” “Will it be safe?” The answer is — it can be terminated if done under medical supervision.
Up to what gestational age can it be terminated?
- Gestational age not exceeding 12 weeks → Can be terminated unconditionally
- Gestational age 12–20 weeks → Can be terminated with counseling services
- Any gestational age can be done → If the pregnancy affects the physical and mental health of the pregnant person, the fetus has severe disabilities, the pregnant person is under 15 years old, or the pregnancy is a result of sexual assault without the need for a police report
How to know the gestational age? The easiest way is to count from the first day of the last menstrual period or have a doctor check with an ultrasound to be sure before planning the next steps
