Jackson, an American documentary that swept numerous awards in 2016, depicts the intense battle between providers of safe abortion services and extreme religious groups, along with conservative politicians in Jackson, the location of Mississippi’s only safe abortion clinic. The story is told through the conflicting perspectives of three women: the clinic director, an anti-abortion group member, and a single mother from a poor family, in a society that seems open but is actually filled with inequality and discrimination.

The RSA (Referral System for Safe Abortion) network, the network supporting choices for unprepared pregnant women, the unplanned pregnancy counseling line 1663, the Love Care Station website www.lovecarestation.com, and the Path2Health Foundation, in collaboration with the Documentary Club and the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre, screened Jackson in 2017. They found that the public still had many unanswered questions about safe abortion. Therefore, they are organizing another screening this year to open up discussions, especially on issues directly related to Thai society.

Saturday, June 16, 2018, meet at the 5th-floor auditorium of the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.
Doc+Talk presents 2 films and 2 intense discussion panels: Jackson and Circle of Poison.
