The National Health Security Office (NHSO) in collaboration with the Department of Health’s Bureau of Reproductive Health has initiated a project to prevent teenage pregnancies by providing contraceptive implants and IUDs to teenagers under 20 years old who are postpartum, have had an abortion, or wish to use contraception under all health rights, whether it be the National Health Security (30 baht for all diseases), Social Security, or government official medical welfare, free of charge.
Services began nationwide on May 1, 2014, and can be accessed at public and private hospitals within the National Health Security system.
