Group discussion “Experience in Terminating Pregnancy” and Q&A session with speakers Tasanai Khantayaporn and Nisarath Jongvisal, along with Dr. Phuchong Chaichin and Dr. Nithiwat Saengruang, RSA volunteer doctors

On November 17, 2018, the Project for Developing a Network of Safe and Friendly Alternative Services, in collaboration with the International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations of Thailand (IMFSA-Thailand), organized an academic seminar “Medical Students and Termination of Pregnancy” at the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University. The aim was to create an understanding of the situation and issues surrounding pregnancy termination in Thailand, and to exchange experiences with RSA volunteer doctors and social activists on safe pregnancy termination.

The RSA volunteer network, Dr. Phuchong Chaichin and Dr. Nithiwat Saengruang, RSA volunteer doctors, were speakers exchanging on the topic of the situation and issues of pregnancy termination in Thailand. They also participated in the group discussion “Experience in Terminating Pregnancy” with speakers from the Women’s Unplanned Pregnancy Support Network and social activists on the issue of abortion in Thailand, the Tam Tang Group. Additionally, there were speakers from Love Care Station, the Foundation for Women and Men Progressive Movement, on the topics “Sex Education in Thailand” and “Patriarchal Society and Safe Pregnancy Termination” who also participated in the seminar exchange.
