The project to develop an alternative service network for teenagers and women with unplanned pregnancies, funded by the Health Promotion Fund (HPF), aims to strengthen the service network for both continuing and terminating pregnancies, making it accessible, safe, and friendly. It also seeks to ensure continuity and sustainability in future operations. One of the project’s objectives is to create public understanding of the rights of teenagers and women with unplanned pregnancies through online communication tools, campaigns, and various forums.

The online operations under the project are managed by the RSA regional working group, in collaboration with the project team and website team, using online media such as Facebook fan pages, the RSAThai.org website, and YouTube. The RSA network members, especially those working in adolescent clinics nationwide, participate as news contributors and share various articles. During the 3rd National Sexual Health Conference on Teenage Pregnancy: From Strategy to Practice, a team of 12 RSA reporters was formed to report the conference to those unable to attend, resulting in positive outcomes.

The project, in collaboration with the RSA volunteer network, organized the first social media skills workshop on May 22-23, 2019, at the Sanjai 2 meeting room, 6th floor, National Health Commission Office (NHCO), Ministry of Public Health, Nonthaburi Province. The workshop aimed to enhance skills in taking illustrative photos and making simple clips from mobile phones for better social media dissemination. It also aimed to improve writing and sharing skills on social media to effectively create public understanding of the rights of teenagers and women with unplanned pregnancies and to build an online network between RSA, adolescent clinics/support centers, and network partners using pages to communicate with target groups to jointly create broader social movements.

On the meeting day, Dr. Nithiwat Saengruang, RSA volunteer network coordinator, welcomed the participants and explained the project’s background and objectives, with Thasanai Khantayaporn, the project consultant.
