Injectable contraceptives are a form of birth control that requires medical personnel and can be accessed at public and private hospitals
and some private clinics. There are 2 types of injectable contraceptives: one that lasts for 3 months and one for 1 month, administered into the muscle of the upper arm or hip. After the injection, there may be a slight pain in the injection area for about 1 day, which will go away on its own. Importantly, after the injection, do not massage the injection area as it will cause the drug to be absorbed too quickly. For service, go for the injection within the first 5 days of menstruation. When it’s time for the next injection, go as scheduled without waiting for your period to start.

After receiving the 3-month contraceptive injection, almost everyone will experience irregular periods. Initially, it will be sporadic and unpredictable, but after several injections, the period will disappear completely. Do not worry, because if you stop the injections for a while, the body’s hormones will start working, and the period will return to normal.

What to do if you miss your scheduled contraceptive injection? It’s okay, you can still get the next injection, but do not delay. If it’s time for your appointment, you should go immediately.
– Combined hormone contraceptive injection (this type lasts for 1 month) should not be missed by more than 7 days.
– Progestogen-only contraceptive injection (lasts for 3 months) should not be missed by more than 2 weeks.
And to ensure you are not pregnant during this time, you should abstain from sex or use condoms every time.
