The Department of Health, Ministry of Public Health, through the Bureau of Reproductive Health, in collaboration with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth), organized a meeting to exchange knowledge on driving the prevention and resolution of teenage pregnancy issues. The objective is to exchange knowledge on driving the prevention and resolution of teenage pregnancy issues, showcase outstanding works of various agencies, and present plaques and certificates to agencies that have concretely driven operations. The target group includes personnel from local administrative organizations, public health, education, network partners, and the general public, from July 11-12, 2019, at the Ambassador Hotel, Sukhumvit 11, Bangkok.

The project to develop a network of alternative services for teenagers and women with unplanned pregnancies is funded by the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth). The goal is to develop a strong, accessible, safe, and friendly service network for both continuing and terminating pregnancies, as well as to seek continuity in sustainable operations within the system. The project has four objectives: 1) Develop the strength and network of service units that assist teenagers and women who continue their pregnancies. 2) Expand safe medical abortion services comprehensively by developing the potential and strength of the RSA network. 3) Create public understanding of the rights of teenagers and women with unplanned pregnancies using online communication tools, campaigns, and various forums. 4) Manage knowledge (Knowledge Management) to lead to the development and promotion of policy recommendations.

This meeting to exchange knowledge to drive the prevention and resolution of teenage pregnancy issues is seen as beneficial to health workers in linking work with various health service facilities. The team at www.rsathai.org took this opportunity to report the meeting news through the project’s online channels.
