“NHSO allocates additional budget for pregnancy termination drugs”

Curious after reading? Let me explain it like this… The pregnancy termination drug (Medabon) was registered in Thailand at the end of 2014 and distributed for use in hospitals registered for drug use with the Department of Health.

The National Health Security Office (NHSO) reported that the rate of unsafe abortions in Thailand has continuously decreased. Data shows that the medical expenses for unsafe abortions decreased by 12 million baht in 2015 and continued to decrease by 20 million baht in 2016. In summary, after registering the pregnancy termination drug for two years, Thailand saved a budget of 32 million baht.

The budget allocated to increase the use of pregnancy termination drugs is intended to prevent unsafe abortions because it can reduce medical expenses and, more importantly, save the lives of Thai women.

Many people have asked whether the abortion pills sold on the internet are registered with the FDA, Ministry of Public Health. The answer is “no.” The pregnancy termination drug (Medabon) is only available in medical facilities registered for drug use with the Department of Health. Those facing unplanned pregnancies can call 1663 for consultation to coordinate access to safe pregnancy termination services.
