UPDATE Bangkok Abortion Event This Sunday, Latest!
Can we talk about “abortion” as normally as we talk about other topics?
We want everyone to be able to talk about this, to provide information about it, not just doctors.
We want to tell everyone that there are more people in this world who have experienced abortion or are involved with it than you think. But you never know because it’s not easy for someone who has gone through this experience to tell someone else.
This International Abortion Day, “Tam Tang Group” is hosting Bangkok Abortion with budget support from various parties, including the Network for Women’s Choice Support for Unplanned Pregnancies, the National Health Security Office, organizations like womenonweb, womenhelpwomen, Khlong Tan Hospital, and Amnesty International Thailand.
Why “Bangkok Abortion”? Because not a single hospital under the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration provides safe abortion services with budget support from the National Health Security Office.
We have sent an invitation to the famous Bangkok governor, but we don’t know if he will attend our event.
But whether the governor comes or not, the invited guests who have confirmed their attendance will speak to us about how abortion relates to their work, their activism, and their lives.
Nuchanart Thaentong, Panusaya Sithijirawattanakul, Chonthita Kraisrikul, Nongmai Vijan, Baipor Nutthanit
We intend for the atmosphere of the event to be a gathering of friends, brothers, and sisters who, regardless of their work topics, support the right to safe abortion. We have a fortune teller, feminist spiritual activists who will perform rituals to reclaim life energy, Anticha Sangchai.
And importantly, at the event, you will receive information about safe abortion from real professionals in the field, answering all your questions about safe abortion issues, more than the state has ever provided.
Additionally, we have music, food, and booths from various NGO organizations.
And we want to invite everyone to help write to the “Bangkok governor” about why Bangkok should provide safe abortion services. We will hand this opinion cloth to the governor if he comes.
Come meet us this Sunday from 3:00 PM onwards
at Suan Kru Angoon, Thonglor Soi 3
If you don’t come this time, then when? Who knows how many years it will be before we can organize this again?
