“Condoms” are a matter for two people to discuss and prepare together because having safe sex is not something to be ashamed of. It also ensures that both parties have good sexual health. It is known that most contraceptive devices are primarily designed for women, whether it be birth control pills, contraceptive injections, or IUDs, all of which focus on preventing pregnancy but cannot prevent sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS.

While condoms are another type of contraceptive device and an alternative that helps provide the most protection against infections and also prevents pregnancy.

Concerns about the consequences of having sex may arise for both women and men, but this issue seems to weigh more heavily on women. Most women tend to worry more about “unintended pregnancy” than the fear of contracting sexually transmitted infections from their partners.

In reality, pregnancy is not the only important issue because sexually transmitted infections, especially HIV/AIDS and syphilis, are equally important. This latter issue can occur equally in both women and men. If one party is infected, it can be transmitted to the other party.

Currently, condoms, including female condoms, are medical devices with empirical evidence supporting their effectiveness in preventing the spread of HIV and sexually transmitted infections, as well as being used to prevent pregnancy (WHO, 2009).

For our safety and that of our partners, and to avoid worries or distress about pregnancy and infections, the method of Dual Protection is recommended. This means that men use “condoms” every time they have sex, while women choose an effective method of contraception to prevent pregnancy, such as monthly birth control pills, contraceptive injections, IUDs, or contraceptive implants.

For teenagers under 20 years old, all healthcare rights requiring contraception / postpartum / post-abortion can receive semi-permanent contraceptive services, IUDs, and contraceptive implants for free.
