“What Does the Color of Your Period Say About Your Health?”
Have you ever noticed that your period has different colors in each cycle? In fact, the color of your period can indicate your health! Let’s see what each color means and when to be cautious.
1. Bright Red – Normal Period
– Means: Normal blood flow, the uterus sheds as per the menstrual cycle
– If there are small blood clots, it is considered normal, but if there are large and numerous clots, further observation may be needed
2. Dark Red or Brownish Red – Old Blood Being Expelled Slowly
– Means: Blood that has been in the uterus longer than usual or slow uterine contractions
– Commonly found in the last days of the period
– If the color is very dark and there is unusual abdominal pain, it may be a sign of endometriosis
3. Pink – Hormonal Imbalance or Abnormal Bleeding
– Means: The level of estrogen in the body may be low or there may be anemia
– Found in people with low body weight, heavy exercise, or approaching menopause
– If pink blood occurs outside the menstrual cycle, a doctor should be consulted
4. Orange – May Be a Sign of Infection
– Means: There may be an infection in the vagina or cervix
– If there are accompanying symptoms such as itching, unusual odor, or lower abdominal pain, a doctor should be consulted promptly
5. Gray or Greenish Gray – Be Cautious! May Be a Sign of Severe Infection
