In the first 5 years of the network’s operations, it mostly reached women facing unplanned pregnancies through the One Stop Crisis Center and network member organizations. Therefore, the number of women the network supported was not very high. However, as more member organizations began offering hotlines for unplanned pregnancy consultations, such as the Tam Tang Group, Hotline 1663, and Social Assistance Hotline 1300, the network received coordination to refer hundreds of women with unplanned pregnancies each year. Some of these women are in difficult situations, impoverished, and many cannot access health insurance or social security rights.

At the 28th network meeting on July 6, 2012, a resolution was passed to establish the “Fund to Help Children and Women in Crisis from Sexual Violence and Unplanned Pregnancy” through fundraising within member organizations. Currently, most donations still come from members and friends, managed by the fund’s committee, providing grants through member organizations that contact women in need of assistance, with most approvals occurring within a day.

As the network supporting choices for women with unplanned pregnancies has referred women in crisis from sexual violence and unplanned pregnancies for various forms of assistance, whether the choice is to continue the pregnancy or terminate it, it has been found that women in crisis often face financial issues. This leads women facing various problems, especially those terminating pregnancies, to risk their health and lives.

Moreover, counselors/workers related to the network often face challenges in seeking initial assistance from various sources to help these women, whether they decide to terminate the pregnancy or continue it. The current solution is often to collect money from related workers to provide case-by-case assistance.

Therefore, establishing a fund to help women in crisis from sexual violence under the network supporting choices for women with unplanned pregnancies is an important approach to providing timely assistance to those in need, preventing injury and death from unsafe pregnancy terminations, and ensuring that children born from unplanned pregnancies receive initial support for a good quality of life.

Objectives 
The fund to help children and women in crisis aims to assist children and women facing crises from sexual violence and unplanned pregnancies who cannot access help from various funds or normal health rights. Children and women who meet one of the following criteria can request assistance from the fund:

1. Facing unplanned pregnancy issues, sexual violence/abuse
2. Experiencing domestic violence
3. In poverty and difficult situations (including homeless people, people with disabilities, HIV-infected individuals, serious diseases that are dangerous to mother and child, etc.)
4. Unable to use health insurance/social security and others (even if they have rights, or the expenses are not covered)
