Check your eligibility now! Book free birth control pills through the ‘Pao Tang’ app.
In case anyone doesn’t know, all Thai women aged 15-59 can receive free birth control pills, which is one of the benefits provided by the National Health Security Office (NHSO). You can receive up to 3 packs at a time (or depending on the discretion of the service provider), with a maximum of 13 packs per person per year. You can also book them through the “Pao Tang” application.
Here are the steps to book:
Step 1: Open the Pao Tang app, go to the “Health Wallet” menu, click “Register for Health Wallet,” then fill in the information and wait for confirmation.
Step 2: Once confirmed, go to “Health Promotion Services” and select “Birth Control Pills.”
Step 3: Search for a service unit and book your eligibility within the booking date.
Step 4: Go to receive the birth control pills within the booking date during the operating hours of the participating service units, such as pharmacies, medical clinics, nursing clinics, etc.
However, if you don’t have a smartphone, you can still show your ID card to receive birth control pills at the service unit.
Check the list of healthcare facilities in the National Health Security System at the NHSO website https://www.nhso.go.th/page/hospita under the category of health promotion and disease prevention service units.
